Apart from all the celebrities and their performances, cryptocurrencies were majorly highlighted during this year’s Super Bowl. Meme coin Shiba Inu [SHIB] was also part of it as it was vaguely displayed during one of the commercials.

This year’s Super Bowl was particularly special to the crypto-verse. An array of prominent cryptocurrency exchanges veered into the NFL championship game. Along with prominent advertisers like Cheetos, Taco Bell, Budweiser, crypto platforms, Coinbase, FTX, Crypto.com, eToro, and Bitbuy made their debut.

While all of these firms were celebrating this milestone, the Shiba Inu community was glad to be a part of this trend. Even though none of these firms officially promoted the meme coin in their advertisement, the Shiba Inu dog appeared in the eToro ad which created quite the buzz in the market.

The fervor around this skyrocketed as the communities of several dog-inspired meme coins began celebrating the commercial. eToro listed SHIB back in July 2021 itself. However, following the latest commercial, the community speculated that the firm was looking to onboard LEASH as the Shiba Inu dog was on a leash.

While several were inclined towards LEASH, the crypto platform eToro chose to stay mum.

Nevertheless, one item that was found in the commercial was the Ape from the Bored Ape Yacht Club.

Furthermore, the increased crypto presence at this year’s Super Bowl created a debate among the community on who rolled out the best commercial. Coinbase undoubtedly took the trophy as the most popular commercial. Its minimalistic ad provoked major traffic in its app which compelled it to crash.

Shiba Inu holders continue to stay behind BabyDoge despite increased popularity

The Shiba Inu ecosystem has rolled out a multitude of updates for the coming months. Apart from this, the meme coin has managed to bag listings at prominent crypto exchanges from across the globe. Despite this, the total holders of SHIB continue to remain below 1.5 million.

At press time, the total number of SHIB holders was at a low of 1,173,437. However, the total number of BabyDoge holders was 1,406,649.
