Binance Partners with Law Enforcement Agencies for Anti-Scam Campaign

Binance has announced a partnership with law enforcement agencies to launch an Anti-Scam campaign. The crypto exchange platform announced the partnership in a statement that will see the newly formed cyber security efforts expand across the world.

The announcement notes the joint effort started with a pilot run in collaboration with the Hong Kong Police Force. Specifically, the exchange worked alongside enforcement officers to “build a targeted alert and crime prevention message that included helpful tips, examples of the most common scams, and relevant resources and contacts.”

The largest crypto exchange by trading volume has taken another step in ensuring users across the world are better protected. Through a statement published today, Binance has announced a partnership with various law enforcement agencies for a Joint Anti-SCam campaign.

The statement notes that the campaign will join forces with “law enforcement agencies across the globe.” Following a successful pilot run of the program in Hong Kong. Moreover, the statement shared the results of the program’s pilot run. Specifically stating it led to “approximately 20.4% of users had either reconsidered the withdrawal or reviewed whether the transaction carried the risk of scam.”

“Moving forward, we’re looking to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in other regions,” the statement read. Additionally, noting that the Join Anti-Scam program already compliments the exchanges “anti-crime, and crime prevention initiatives worldwide,” in both their law enforcement assistance action, and Global Law Enforcement Training Program.

The cruise in cyber crimes has been an undoubted hindrance to the continued growth of the digital asset industry. Conversely, Binance’s continued work alongside traditional law enforcement is a necessary step in combatting that threat.
