The U.S. is infamous for its stance on the crypto industry. As the power struggle between the Securities and Exchange Commission [SEC] and the Commodity of Futures Trading Commission [CFTC] continues to remain in the spotlight, a new wing of the government was now getting involved.

A recent post on the r/cryptocurrency subreddit disclosed that the San Francisco Field Office of the U.S. Secret Service will be hosting an “Ask me anything” [AMA] session. The AMA is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. Pacific Time later today.

The post provided further information on the motivation behind this decision, stating that the U.S. Secret Service aims to engage with the crypto community and address any questions or concerns they may have regarding cryptocurrency-related issues. The post read,

“Here in San Francisco, we have a squad dedicated to keeping cryptocurrency and its users safe. We are comprised of Special Agents and Analysts who have embraced the future of money, and we’re eager to share our work with this cryptocurrency community and provide resources and education to help keep your money safe. We’re also eager to learn from you.”

Is this the real U.S. Secret Service?

The subreddit moderator confirmed the authenticity of the Secret Service account. They assured the community that they had verified it through a private chat. The moderator emphasized the importance of treating the Secret Service representatives as “guests.” They encouraged the community to maintain a polite and courteous demeanor during the AMA session.

Even before the AMA session started, numerous questions started flooding in. Many participants urged the representatives to track down the creators of the Safemoon network, while others sought insights into the Secret Service’s approach toward the crypto industry. Some were particularly interested in knowing whether the Secret Service employs similar tools to monitor digital finances as they do for traditional financial systems. Additionally, it should be noted that many lauded the U.S. Secret Service for carrying out the AMA.
