FTX was the sole focus subject over the past few days in the crypto space. Of late, however, people even from outside space have been inquisitive to know what caused the collapse of the well-established exchange. Tapping into the hype, technology conglomerate Amazon has purchased an 8-episode miniseries from the directors of Marvel’s “Avengers” franchise.

Confirming the same, an exclusive report from entertainment media house Variety noted,

An eight-episode limited series about the FTX scandal from Joe and Anthony Russo’s production company, AGBO, has been set up at Amazon, and Variety has learned exclusively.

Brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, directors of “Avengers: Endgame” and multiple other Marvel-based movies, are reported to have sold the idea to Amazon. They are also set to direct the mini-series.

The series will be written by David Weil, previously associated with Amazon’s Hunters and Solos and Apple TV+’s Invasion.

Amazon, on its part, is hoping to put the show into production in spring 2023. Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, said,

“We are excited to be able to continue our great working relationship with David, Joe, Anthony, and the AGBO team with this fascinating event series. I can’t think of better partners to bring this multifaceted story to our global Prime Video audience.”

Talks going on with Marvel Actors

Per Variety’s sources, the Amazon series will be based on “insider reporting” by journalists who have covered the FTX saga. Sources further revealed,

… there have been discussions with multiple Marvel actors with whom the Russos worked in the past about joining the show in key roles, but all of those talks are preliminary at this time.

User suggestions for the cast have been doing the rounds on social platforms like Twitter for quite some time.

Commenting on the latest development, the Russo brothers said,

“This is one of the most brazen frauds ever committed. It crosses many sectors—celebrity, politics, academia, tech, criminality, sex, drugs, and the future of modern finance. At the center of it all sits an extremely mysterious figure with complex and potentially dangerous motivations. We want to understand why.”
