During the late hours of Sunday, a not-so-prominent BEP-20 token found its way into the top Binance Smart Chain wallets. Baby Bali [BB], one of the first crypto tokens to combine the tourism sector, giveaways, and games, was the most-traded token by the top 1000 BSC whales over the past 24 hours.

Parallelly, Baby Bali also managed to find a place for itself next to prominent projects including DOGE and ETH in the ‘most used smart contracts’ list. This means, among the top 1000 BSC wallets, BB contracts were among the ones that consumed the most gas over the past day.

Tourism remains to be the key

As highlighted initially, this project prioritizes tourism. As per the description on CMC, the members associated with Baby Bali believe that they can contribute to revitalizing Bali’s tourism sector post the pandemic with their innovations. They’re also “very sure” that the heyday of Bali tourism would soon find its way, riding on the back of Indonesia’s extensive vaccination program.

The program has, indeed, been going on at a swift pace. As per graphics from Our World in Data, the curve depicting the number of vaccinations given started witnessing a sharp incline since the last quarter of 2021. With over 323 million vaccine doses already given, close to half the Indonesian population has already been fully vaccinated.

All that glitters cannot be gold, right? The said number, to some extent, lags when compared to India’s 53% and US’s 64%. Further, throughout January, Indonesia has witnessed a steady rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, despite having brought outbreaks under control in the second half of last year.

Despite the not-so-favorable environment, Bali reopened its borders for foreign travelers from all countries less than a day back. In what is the latest development, the Indonesian province parallelly resumed direct international flights for the first time in two years.

Are whales anticipating a bright future?

With tourism being the prime source of income in Bali, the reopening of the island comes as good news. Apart from aiding economic recovery, the open-up could also have the potential to help Baby Bali’s ecosystem prosper.

As per the website, the project is currently focusing on creating a marketplace, which would be a one-stop solution for tourists. Right from villas, hotels, and travel agents to car, motorbike rentals, and ongoing promotions, tourists would be able to search for anything and everything using the platform.

The team already has several utilities for the BB token, however, its progress depends on the return of the tourists. To connect the dots, BSC whales engaged in BB-related transactions right after the said positive development started doing the rounds.

Maybe, the BSC whales’ latest are anticipating the token to take off over the long run. It’d be interesting to wait and watch how things unfold for Baby Bali from here on.
