BAYC’s Otherside -what you need to know?

The BAYC metaverse has been cooking up a lot of curiosity and expectations ever since they teased the trailer on March 19.

After a lot of head-scratching and waiting, the mint date is finally out. The mint will go online on Sunday. There are a few things to remember. The whole sale will be based on an ApeCoin exclusive.

So the mint date is April 30, tomorrow. The actual sale will begin at 9 pm ET. After receiving a lot of feedback from the community, they decided to allot more time for the users to get pre-approval for ApeCoin. The pre-approval time will begin at 9 am ET.

The Otherside will be deployed on their official website at 12 pm ET on April 30. The KYC to participate should be completed from this website. KYC is necessary to mint in the auction even if you are a BAYC and MAYC holder. But holders can claim the NFTs 21 days after the auction, for that KYC is not necessary.

To cover the gas, you’ll need some ETH. The entire mint was set to be a Dutch auction, which implies ApeCoin’s price will fall over time. But in the latest tweet, they tweeted that:

Dutch auctions are actually bullshit, so Otherdeeds will be sold for a flat price of 305 ApeCoin

Otherdeeds- the metaverse land

Yuga Labs made an announcement about their sale. The land called the Otherdeeds will be available for sale. Each piece of land will be available for 305 APE for a plot. There will be a total of 55k land plots, which will be available for purchase for users who completed KYC.

The team ditched the plan for the Dutch auction and decided to sell Otherdeeds for a price of 305 ApeCoin. The team announced that the Dutch auctions would likely fail to negate the gas wars in these highly anticipated mints.

So instead of Dutch auctions, the sales will be conducted in waves. So for each wave, one KYC’d wallet can only mint up to 2 Otherdeeds. Once the gas price settles down, the team will start wave two. In wave 2, users can mint up to 4 NFTs. The team will repeat the waves until all plots are sold out.

In addition, any ApeCoin bought during the auction will be held by Otherside for a year. In other words, the coins will not be used to cast votes in the ApeCoin DAO.

The team also left out warnings to be wary of imposters who will act as the BAYC team. They also asked the users to be cautious, as they won’t be hosting any giveaways or early drops.
