According to Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, BlackRock is planning to file for a staked Ethereum ETF. Balchunas shared a Delaware name registration document on X and anticipates a filing soon. BlackRock did not add staking features to its spot ETH ETF. The institution’s new plans seem to go in another direction.

Will Ethereum Rally Due To BlackRock’s Staking ETF?

Ethereum (ETH) did not follow Bitcoin’s (BTC) trajectory after its ETF launch. While BTC hit multiple all-time highs after its ETF launch in 2024, Ethereum (ETH) did not hit a new all-time high until August of this year. Hence, it is unclear if ETH will rally due to BlackRock’s staking ETF plans.

Moreover, given the current market situation, Ethereum (ETH) may take some time to recover from its losses. ETH’s price fell to the $2800 level earlier today, but has since reclaimed the $3000 price point. According to CoinGecko’s Ethereum data, ETH is down 2.9% in the last 24 hours, 14.8% in the last week, 11.1% in the 14-day charts, 22.3% over the previous month, and 3.9% since November 2024.

The crypto market may enter a prolonged consolidation phase. Macroeconomic factors and the lack of an interest rate cut from the Federal Reserve may lead to low inflows. Moreover, ETF inflows have also dipped over the last month. Ethereum (ETH) may enter a bullish phase in 2026 if the Federal Reserve announces an interest rate cut in the event of economic improvements.
