Jitendra K Tuli, the President of Economic & Technical Consultants, wrote an opinion piece in The Times of India saying that BRICS countries and their leaders are not as holy as they portray to be. He highlighted that BRICS members have so much wealth being consolidated by just a few powerful leaders and businessmen. Tuli stressed that leaders and businessmen from BRICS countries are corrupt and have deposited billions in Swiss Bank for decades.

Despite being wealthy countries, the gap between the rich and poor is tenfold that of the US and other Western countries. “Leaders and influential people from all of the BRICS countries, including China, have deposited billions of dollars in Swiss and other offshore banks.” He also explained that the alliance does much less business among themselves than they do with other leading Western countries.

“They do much less business among themselves than they do with the Western countries,” he said. Apart from depositing money in Swiss Bank, BRICS members are also power hungry with a large ego. “A number of these countries, like Russia, China, Iran, and India, spend billions on arms. Russia, China, and Iran do it to satisfy their power hunger to consolidate their own power and subjugate other countries.”

Going off the topic of BRICS and Swiss Bank, the economist also said that India spends billions on arms to protect itself from China, which is a BRICS member. “India spends huge amounts to protect herself against China, one of the BRICS founding members, and its ally Pakistan. Their business dealings among the BRICS Members have almost remained stationary.”

Tuli said that Brazil’s President Lula da Silva made statements at the 17th summit about maintaining peace and human rights. “He completely ignored that almost all BRICS members openly support terror and wars. Three members, Russia, China, and Iran, have been involved with mass murders,” he stressed.
