BRICS Makes Huge Announcement On Expansion: New Country Will Join Soon

Around 47 countries have expressed their interest in joining the BRICS alliance before the 2024 summit. Out of the 47 countries, only 25 nations have formally submitted their applications to join the bloc. The other 22 nations have informally expressed their interest in being a part of the grouping. The 16th BRICS summit will be held from October 22 to 24 in the Kazan region of Russia and expansion plans will be discussed.

The BRICS expansion will make way for the alliance to economically strengthen its prospects and take on the US and the West. BRICS Expansion: Venezuela Will Join the Bloc After 2024 Summit, Says Top Diplomat

Venezuela will be a part of the next BRICS expansion and secure its position in the bloc, says the country’s top diplomat Yvan Gil Pinto. He explained that all formalities have been discussed and Venezuela will find its position in the alliance after the summit.

“We can say that Venezuela is actually joining BRICS. We are working already, our ministers attend BRICS meetings, and we take part in commission work, information exchanges, summits, and foreign ministers’ meetings,” the diplomat said regarding the expansion.

However, the final decision regarding the expansion will also be taken by the other BRICS members. “Therefore, we are in the orbit of BRICS. While formalities and the way of accession will depend on what the organization decides,” the diplomat said, and added, “Venezuela is working (toward the accession). President Nicolas Maduro was invited by Putin to attend the coming BRICS summit in October,” Gil Pinto summed it up.
