Former Fox News journalist Tucker Carlson interviewed BRICS country Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. The face-to-face interview conducted in Russia’s capital city of Moscow saw Carlson ask Putin varied questions about geopolitics. Carlson and Putin spoke about the ongoing war with Ukraine, conflicts in the Middle East, and the Red Sea, among others. The duo also discussed BRICS and its aim of pulling the US dollar down as the world’s reserve currency.

Putin and Carlson’s video is also unedited and published without any cuts for the public. Carlson spoke about the US sanctions on Russia and the BRICS goal of uprooting the dollar. BRICS: Russia, Putin, & Carlson Saga
The interview comes at a time when the US and other Western allies are looking to counter Russia, China, and BRICS. Russia, with the help of BRICS countries, is building a new payment system for cross-border transactions without integrating the US dollar. Around 20 countries have already agreed to be a part of the new BRICS payment system when it is launched.

Therefore, the timing of the interview did not sit well with the US as Russia and BRICS are looking to topple the dollar. His motive for interviewing Putin is to “inform the American public” about the “other part of the world,” he said. Carlson made it clear that he does not support Russia or Putin but is only informing the American public about the happenings.
Also, unconfirmed reports are making the rounds that the European Union wants to ban Carlson from interviewing Putin. Moreover, these are only speculations as the EU has not taken an official stand against Carlson.
