There are various factors that are keeping Bitcoin’s (BTC) price at bay. Firstly, we are in a bear market and risk-appetite among investors is low. The cryptocurrency sector is one of the riskiest markets and retail players are unsure about high-risk investments.

Secondly, the ongoing war between the US and Iran played a major role in pulling down Bitcoin’s (BTC) price. Oil prices have surged since the war and that has led to higher inflation. Although inflation dipped for June, the numbers could pick up for July. High inflation may lead to higher interest rates which leads to less risky investments.

Bitcoin (BTC) could see some relief if the CLARITY Act is passed. The legislation aims to bring more regulatory clarity for the US and more investor protection. If passed into law, the move could lead to increased crypto investments from institutions and retail investors. Bitcoin (BTC) could potentially reclaim the $100k mark under such circumstances.

While Bitcoin (BTC) is struggling to gain momentum, the asset is well within its four-year cycle. BTC has historically climbed to new all-time highs every four years; 2017, 2021, and 2025. Going by this pattern, Bitcoin (BTC) could hit a new peak sometime in 2029 before facing a dip. The climb to a new peak in 2029, however, could start sometime in 2027.

There may be a chance for Bitcoin (BTC) to hit the $100k mark in 2026, but there are challenges. However, we could see the early signs of another bull run sometime next year.
