The historical rivalry between McDonald’s and Burger King is now mirroring similar conflicts between Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.

The burger wars engulfed after Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted that he would eat a happy meal on television if McDonald’s accepts Dogecoin as payment. However, McDonald’s responded in a rather funny way that they’d accept Dogecoin “only if Tesla accepts GrimaceCoin.”

While McDonald’s has not confirmed to accept Dogecoin yet, the Shiba Inu army has banded together urging Burger King to accept SHIB as payment.

The SHIB army knocked on Burger King’s Twitter handle claiming the burger joint can benefit if they accept Shiba Inu. The ‘Dogecoin and McDonald’s’ frenzy on social media quickly took a new direction about ‘Shiba Inu and Burger King’.

The Shiba Inu army is notorious when it comes to making their voices heard by the leading companies. The perfect example for this is ‘Hey Robinhood, when Shiba Inu?’. The tweets hit such a frenzy that Robinhood executives are now unable to escape interviews without answering questions about Shiba Inu.

McDonald’s and Burger King have always been at loggerheads and mostly did the opposite of what each other did. Their rivalry is a spectacle of sorts as their advertising campaigns are designed to poke fun at each other. The rivalry spectacle is now being reflected in the crypto sphere with Dogecoin and Shiba Inu wars.

Dogecoin and Shiba Inu have also been at loggerheads since SHIB’s inception in August 2020. Shiba Inu touted itself as the ‘Dogecoin killer’ but has now removed the language from its website. However, the name still remains synonymous in the minds of investors who see the meme-tokens fighting for the top spot.

During a recent ShibAma, the lead developer of ShibaSwap, Eric M sent a message to the moderator of SHIB’s Discord, Queenie. While Queenie was speaking, Eric asked her to announce that we’re no longer the ‘Dogecoin killer’ but ‘Dogecoin killed’. Hinting that SHIB has removed Dogecoin from the limelight and sidelined it to the second spot in terms of popularity.

There could be truth to it as Shiba Inu came out thrice as the most talked-about cryptocurrency on Twitter.
