DAC, a quantum-resistant Layer-1 blockchain project, has highlighted the growing need for post-quantum security as Italy prepares to inaugurate its first Quantum Supercomputer and industrial quantum annealer, Volta B1, today, October 16, at the Digital Innovation Forum 2026.

DAC Spearheading Italy’s Quantum Computing Ambitions

Today’s inaugurations mark a significant milestone for Italy’s quantum computing ambitions, with Volta B1 set to become one of Europe’s most advanced quantum infrastructures. Developed under the technical and scientific supervision of Q-Alliance, this project also brings renewed attention to the long-term security of digital systems as quantum technologies continue to advance.

Davide Costa, Head of Innovation at DAC, participated in the Forum’s panel, “Frontier Technologies: Quantum Computing, HPC for Quantum Computing, Supercomputers and Blockchain,” alongside representatives from academia, research, and technology institutions.

This discussion focused on advances in computing technologies and infrastructure required to support future innovations. The growing importance of preparing for future quantum computing potential is especially relevant for blockchain networks, which use cryptographic methods to ensure transactions and digital assets are secure.

“The inauguration of Italy’s first Quantum Supercomputer and industrial quantum annealer marks a major milestone in quantum technology. While these advances unlock new possibilities, they also reinforce the need to prepare for future threats to the cryptographic systems securing blockchain networks. At DAC, we’re addressing this challenge by embedding quantum resistance into blockchain infrastructure from the outset,” said Davide Costa, Head of Innovation at DAC.

DAC is working on developing a quantum-resistant, EVM-compliant Layer-1 blockchain. DAC Blockchain technology is based on Proof of Quantum Work (PoQW) and quantum entropy, ensuring strong long-term cryptographic security and stable transaction fees for businesses.

The DAC team has also participated in the Digital Innovation Forum 2026 conferences, where they met with industry leaders and experts in the field of quantum computing, as Europe continues to progress in its quantum computing capabilities and intensifies its efforts on future-ready digital infrastructure.

About DAC

DAC Blockchain is a quantum-resistant EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain, developed by DAC Labs. Its architecture incorporates Proof of Quantum Work (PoQW) and quantum entropy to support secure, scalable blockchain infrastructure with predictable transaction costs. Designed for businesses and developers, DAC supports smart contracts, decentralized applications, and digital asset transactions while prioritizing long-term resilience against emerging quantum computing threats.
