Elon Musk’s big $44 billion Twitter takeover caused an uproar across the globe. While the community awaited to witness a new era of Twitter that upheld freedom of speech, things certainly did not go as planned. Time and again Musk was criticized for an array of things. Mass layoffs, bringing back banned individuals back on the platform, and several other moves by Musk attracted criticism. Now, once again, Musk was subject to backlash following rapper Kanye West’s latest tweet.

West was one among the few banned individuals that found their way back into Twitter. The American rapper was recently kicked out of Twitter for his anti-semitic posts. However, Ye did not make his debut back on the social media platform in the best way.

As seen in the above tweet, Ye was called out by netizens for his latest tweet. Several went on to tag Elon Musk under the post and urged the new Twitter Chief to address the issue. Musk managed to acknowledge the matter swiftly and suspended West’s account which was followed by 32.2M users.

Not only did Musk suspend the rapper’s account, but he also went on to say,

“I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.”

Musk responded to a Twitter user who said, “Elon Fix Kanye Please” with the above statement. Netizens lauded Musk and some of them even went on to thank him for showing West the door.

While Musk hasn’t been very vocal about the rapper’s previous controversy, his latest move has certainly created quite the buzz. Sadly, “Kanye” was trending on the platform even without his presence.

Will Elon Musk’s “amnesty” for banned Twitter accounts be problematic?

In this brand new era of Musk’s Twitter, a whopping 60,000 suspended Twitter accounts were reinstated. Musk has propagated that all content that is permitted by law should be allowed on the social media giant. This move against American censorship was certainly problematic.

Similar to West, former President Donald Trump veered back into Twitter. While Trump hasn’t been active on the platform, several believe that Musk would have to go on and suspend all the accounts he reinstated in the near future.
