The massive Twitter takeover by Elon Musk has garnered attention on a global scale. On October 27, 2022, Musk closed the acquisition deal of Twitter for $44 billion. Immediately after the takeover, Musk started his work by initially firing some of the top executives. This included the firing of former CEO Parag Agrawal.

What comes next for the dominant social media platform has also been a topic of discussion. Musk has stacked up several plans for the social media giant. However, not all were made public by him. In one of his recent tweets, Elon Musk unveiled the changes for Twitter Blue.

Elon Musk discusses what comes with $8 Twitter Blue subscription.

Elon Musk revealed in one of his recent tweets that “Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bullshit.” Musk stated that Twitter Blue will be available for users for $8 per month. Musk also mentioned that the price has been adjusted by country proportionate to purchasing power parity.

Additionally, Musk also speaks about the perks of having a Twitter Blue account. He stated that Twitter Blue users will get priority in replies, mentions, and searches, which can aid in staying a step ahead of scams and spam. He also added that the users will be able to post long videos and audio. Additionally, users need only to endure half of the ads.

Musk also mentioned that publishers who are willing to work with Twitter will have a paywall bypass. He added in a tweet, “This will also give Twitter a revenue stream to reward content creators.”

Users have begun posting their concerns under his tweet. Many replied that this could potentially lead to scammers and impersonators paying for a blue tick mark and impersonating celebrities. But some users are also of the opinion that scammers won’t run hundreds of bots by paying the $8 a month fee.
