The development comes at a time when rumors are doing the rounds that former Economy Minister of Turkey, Mustafa Elitaş held a meeting with the Shiba community. The minister discussed prospects about considering SHIB as legal tender to protect the country from inflation.

“Today we had a face-to-face meeting with our esteemed minister @mustafaelitas about the #shiba ecosystem at @TBMMresmi. We thank them for inviting us to their presence,” tweeted Turkey’s wing of the SHIB community Shiba Inu Türkiye.

Even the lead developer of ShibaSwap, Shytoshi Kusama tweeted, “FANTASTIC NEWS. Global adoption continues to grow! Shibarmy Thank you. @mustafaelitas for meeting with @shibaturkish!!!” On the other hand, Shytoshi did not spill the beans about the outcome of the meeting either and chose to remain mum.

We will have to wait and watch for more official updates about the outcome of the meeting with Turkish government officials. If news about the government planning to legalize Shiba Inu as tender is true, the token is expected to spike in price. However, none of the reports are confirmed and we’ll have to wait and watch how the development plays out.

Inflation in Turkey

Inflation in Turkey is a cause of worry as it surged 48.7%, the highest ever since 20-years. The price of consumer goods rose 11.10% this year, while salaries of the working class remained stagnant. In other words, the purchasing power among the middle and poor class is decreasing and wiping away their savings.

We have a policy rate of 14% and inflation at 48%… and a government that covers for the FX gap. It’s a bad cocktail for the long-term,” said Ipek Ozkardeskaya, a senior analyst at Swissquote.

Shiba Inu : The Path Forward

Moreover, the public testnet will be released soon but a tentative launch date is not revealed yet.

At press time, Shiba Inu was trading at $0.00002256 and is up 1.3% in the 24-hours day trade. The token is up a staggering +123399.9% in the last 365-trading days making early investors turn millionaires.
