According to the popular journalist Tucker Carlson, former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson wanted $1 million in either USD, gold, or Bitcoin (BTC), in exchange for an interview. Carlson recently took the internet by storm when he interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin, amid Russia’s ongoing military conflict with Ukraine. The interview got over 200 million views on the social media platform X.
According to Carlson, the former UK Prime Minister’s advisor got in touch with the journalist and said ‘He will talk to you, but it’s going to cost you a million dollars.’ Carlson stated, ‘He wants a million in U.S. dollars, gold or bitcoin – this just happened yesterday or two days ago!‘

Carlson compared the situation to his recent interview with Putin, stating, ‘I just interviewed Vladimir Putin – I’m not defending Putin, but [he] didn’t ask me for a million dollars!‘
Why does the UK Prime Minister want Bitcoin (BTC)?
Bitcoin (BTC) is one of the best performing assets of the last decade. BTC’s price has gone from a low of $0.003 in 2010, to as high as almost $69,000 in 2021. Although the asset’s price is down by about 25.5% from its 2021 peak, many analysts anticipate BTC’s price to reclaim its all-time high very soon.

It is possible that Johnson is aware of BTC’s stellar performance over the previous decade and anticipates a similar trajectory in the future. BTC will also undergo its next halving cycle in April, which could also boost the asset’s price. Moreover, the US SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) approved 11 spot Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) in January, which further solidified BTC’s position as a top asset.
