“I never loved crypto because I like to have the dollar ( … ),” were the words by former US President Donald Trump. It was not a surprise for Trump to assume an anti-crypto stance as he has always voiced concerns about technology. However, this time he called crypto “a very dangerous thing” and reinforced his previous statements.

Trump stated during an interview with Fox News,

“I never loved crypto because I like to have the dollar, I like the only currency to be the dollar, So I am never a big fan of crypto, and nobody is doing anything to stop crypto.”

He continued,

“Look, I want a currency called the dollar, I don’t want to have all these others — and that can be an explosion someday like the likes of which we’ve never seen. It’ll make the big tech explosion look like baby stuff. I think it’s a very dangerous thing.”

Despite his staunch opposition to cryptocurrencies, the former President was shilling former first lady Melania Trump’s NFT platform. The former first lady announced the launch of her NFT platform on 16th December and the first NFT available for sale was a watercolor portrait of Trump’s eyes titled “Melania’s Vision.”

As per Trump “she’s doing really great” as Melania Trump combines her passions for art and the possibility of helping other people through her NFTs.

Nevertheless, Trump was currently at loggerheads with other Republicans in the House and Senate. There have been many supporters of Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining well within the Senate pushing for Texas to welcome more Bitcoin miners. Although not heavily backed by the politicians, Trump remained firm on his stance as he had also called bitcoin a scam that needed heavy regulations.
