Rumors are doing the rounds that Rockstar Games will release the trailer of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA) in 2022. However, a tentative date for the trailer release is not revealed yet. Reports previously stated that GTA 6 might feature fictional cryptocurrencies in the game.
However, speculations are now making its way on to social media claiming that cryptos will be shown in the first trailer of GTA 6.

GTA 6 is said to allow the player to accept cryptocurrency as payment from bigshot contractors who mostly remain anonymous. The game mainly revolves around the character earning money but cryptos could be an additional part of earnings.
Rumors stated that GTA 6 will name the cryptocurrency as Bitcoin. However, industry insider Tom Henderson refuted the rumor claiming that Rockstar Games will not call their crypto Bitcoin.
”Just so there’s even less confusion – I’m not joking. This is what I heard from someone that I trust and it will likely not be called “Bitcoin” per se – But it will be a Cryptocurrency. That being said – Always take info like this with a bit of salt,” he said previously.
Henderson also stated, ”I heard recently that in GTA 6, some missions will reward you in Bitcoin instead of cash for completing some missions. The stock market feature will return, with the addition of a broker for different cryptocurrencies. If GTA 6 incorporates this right, it’s huge for crypto.”
If GTA 6 indeed introduces cryptocurrencies in the game, it would raise awareness about blockchain technology to the masses. However, none of these are confirmed and we’ll have to wait and watch for the release of the GTA 6 trailer.
Grand Theft Auto: Money, Property and Cryptocurrency
The main intention of the character in all Grand Theft Auto games is to make money and property through missions. The gameplay is similar to the real world’s quest to make money (except for the stunts, driving techniques, and killings).
Rockstar Games has always been ahead of its times and reflects the world’s technology into its games. Therefore, there are high possibilities that GTA 6 will indeed have cryptos in the gameplay. Nonetheless, we’ll have to wait and watch when the game releases to fully know the chances of cryptos making its debut in GTA 6.
