Interactive Brokers is entering the cryptocurrency trading realm. The popularity of cryptocurrency trading has been rising. Even amidst the falling prices, the adoption of cryptocurrencies has shot up — there is a spike in demand.

Interactive Brokers, an American multinational brokerage company founded in 1978, initially shared its plans to offer cryptocurrency trading in June 2021. However, those plans got dragged out.

Now, according to the latest press release details, Interactive Brokers is launching Bitcoin and Ethereum trading in Hong Kong.

Interactive Brokers to offer BTC and ETH trading to 40 million people

The new trading offering will enable investor clients to trade Bitcoin and Ethereum and provide them with a unified client experience.

“Investor demand for digital assets continues to grow in Hong Kong and around the world, and we are pleased to introduce cryptocurrency to address the trading objectives of clients in this important market,” said David Friedland, Head of APAC at IBKR.

BTC and ETH trading by Interactive Brokers will be powered by OSL Digital Securities. The launch of the services comes at a time when the cryptocurrency realm is evolving and developing in Hong Kong. According to Friedland, clients will be able to benefit from the minimum costs and trade cryptocurrencies all in one place.
