Is Publix Grocery Open on Christmas?

In short, Publix is only closed on three holidays yearly, and Christmas Day is one of them.

Publix only closes its doors on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Easter. The grocery chain is open every other federal holiday, though some locations close early. Each store closes early on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day, posting their own open and closing times on signs in their stores before the holidays come around. However, those hours also vary on the store.

A notice on Publix’s corporate site states: “Since our founding, we have been closed on these three holidays in observance of the holiday and to allow our associates time with family and friends.”
