Move over Bitcoin [BTC], athletes from across the globe are shifting their focus to NFT trends. The fervor around non-fungible tokens continues to surge and presently, hopping on to this trend, NBA champion LeBron James has filed for four trademark applications.

James allegedly submitted four trademark applications for “LEBRON JAMES,” “LEBRON,” “CHOSEN1,” and “KING JAMES,” according to reports. The trademarks were mostly for NFTs and crypto-collectibles, virtual basketball courts, virtual footwear, clothes, sports gear, and home furnishings, according to the filings.

Furthermore, this did not come off as a surprise as several mainstream firms, musicians, actors, sports personalities and others have been veering into the NFT market.

LeBron James NFT collection airdropped

Crypto.com, a well-known exchange, has been securing celebrities for its marketing initiatives. After Matt Damon, LeBron James had piqued the crypto exchange’s interest. Furthermore, many people were drawn to the Super Bowl commercial. However, just a few people were able to scan the concealed QR code that was only visible for 10 seconds.

Additionally, the exchange just announced the airdrop of their “The Moment of Truth” NFT collection, which features James. Those who were successful in scanning the QR code were offered the opportunity to join the Crypto.com NFT platform. As a result, these users would have a chance to collect one of the 5,500 non-fungible tokens that were distributed by airdrop.

Crypto.com’s NFT collection would further include a variety of events from LeBron James’ big decision. The platform intends to capture and immortalize James’ story about making big decisions. Therefore, the latest collection would feature the same. The Moment of Truth collection entails 15 tokens split into three tiers;

“Tier 3 features on-set details and Easter eggs, reminding us to pay attention to the details of life. 5 NFTs with 1000 editions each.

Tier 2 captures the nostalgia of LeBron James roots: Details of his Akron room, and director Calmatic who authentically recreated the vibe of the time. 5 NFTs with 100 editions each.

Tier 1 includes exclusive glimpses of the GOAT himself, behind the scenes at the shoot. 5 NFTs with 10 editions each.”
