Prominent luxury car brands, Mercedes Benz and Lamborghini are officially fueling the whole NFT fervor. NFTs have managed to swoop in an array of platforms into their ecosystem. Move over retail giants like Nike, Adidas, and others, car brands are the latest to enter into the NFT-verse.
In a recent tweet, Mercedes revealed that it was venturing into the NFT market. The firm had reportedly partnered with Art2People to roll out an NFT collection based on Mercedes’s G-Class vehicle line. Honoring the G-Class line of the firm, five NFT artists were urged to come with unique designs.
Mercedes chose artists from all across the globe ranging from different fields. The list of artists includes Anthony Authie, Roger Kilimanjaro, Baugasm, Charlotte Taylor, as well as Antoni Tudisco.
Further elaborating on its dive into the NFT market, Mercedes wrote,
“With the project, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class enters completely new terrain – the NFT space. Its strong appearance is reflected in each of the five artworks despite completely different interpretations.”
Move over Mercedes; Lamborghini didn’t want to miss out on the NFT fun
The NFT market had a field day with major firms entering its ecosystem. A press release by Automobili Lamborghini revealed that it would be rolling out five exclusive space-themed artwork. The accessibility to this would only be via a special set of physical Space keys.
This was certainly different from the existing projects in the NFT space. The Space Keys would entail carbon fiber material that Lamborghini previously sent to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2019. Further detailing the same, Lamborghini wrote,
“After returning from space, the composite became part of the Space Key. This unique object is limited to five units, each of which is linked to an exclusive digital artwork by the same artist, accessible via the QR code found on the backside.”
Additionally, unlike Mercedes, Lamborghini did not reveal the artist behind the project.
Furthermore, the NFT space has clearly managed to bag an array of prominent firms. The latest news was an addition to its cap. From fashion brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Nike to sports personalities and teams like Lionel Messi, Juventus, the NFT fever hadn’t spared anyone. Besides this, the fast-food giants like Taco Bell and McDonald’s also jumped onto the NFT wagon.
