CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a major roadmap for AI developments that could change the course of the company. The Nasdaq-listed META stock now remains in focus as he revealed a lengthy manifesto and took potshots at rivals for concentrating power. He criticized rivals such as OpenAI and Anthropic, saying that a few corporations are controlling the technology. META is now aiming for the top spot in the AI race, but the competition is intense and harsh.

“Rather than centralizing superintelligence, we should distribute it widely and give every person the ability to direct it,” said Zuckerberg. He also revealed that META would open source its most powerful AI model. The Muse Spark 1.2 AI model would be open-source infrastructure with improvements in code generation, complex debugging, codebase understanding, and end-to-end developer workflows. META stock can benefit the most from the ordeal if the project gains the most users.

The Muse Spark 1.2 AI model is released in Beta mode, and a new frontier could open up after its official launch. Taking an entry position in META stock now, when the price is in the $594 range, could be beneficial. The market could react positively if the open-source AI infrastructure beats its competitors, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. The race to the top is now tight, with several tech giants looking to claim the space.

Zuckerberg also called the concentration of the technology under a few companies “problematic” for the future. “The notion that AI is so dangerous that the only safe path is an extreme concentration of power seems inherently problematic.” META stock has been on a slippery slope this year, dipping nearly 8.5% year-to-date. It had reached a yearly high of $796, only to fall below the $600 level in August.
