MetaMask is teaming up with Asset Reality, a platform that will assist in recovering and accessing stolen crypto assets. The partnership will aid in the recovery of victim funds from MetaMask phishing attacks and scams. The entire move is aimed at the improvisation of digital asset recovery globally.
With global crypto adoption on the rise, scams and phishing attacks are right behind. The strategy is to track and identify the victim’s funds by pooling information from various users and sources and aiding in the recovery.
MetaMask will help the victims recover the stolen assets
Due to the presence of over 30 million monthly active users, MetaMask has proven to be a breeding ground for scammers and bad actors. MetaMask will provide this service to all customers who have been scammed worldwide, including those in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, India, Vietnam, Brazil, France, Germany, and Nigeria.
Through the partnership, Asset Reality will act as the investigator who will look into the reports and increase the chances of recovering the fund and also busting the bad actor.
“Through this industry-leading partnership with Asset Reality, ConsenSys and MetaMask want to allow victims to join together, build cases against these scam operations and bring them to justice. It’s really important that victims of hacks come forward, no matter how small.”
Dan Finlay, Co-Founder of Metamask
No matter how small or big the loss might be, the users can still report the issue to MetaMask. The initiative prevents the users from going through the traditional process of civil litigation and lawyers.
“When a user has funds stolen, often due to being scammed into handing over their passwords or Secret Recovery Phrase, they often have nowhere to turn to, in what is an incredibly difficult time for them emotionally and financially.
Aidan Larkin, Co-Founder & CEO fo Asset Reality
Once a user has submitted a report regarding a scam, Asset Reality will take over the case and investigate each fraud. In a growing realm of increased scams, an initiative like this remains the light at the end of the tunnel.
