Back in September last year, Ripple had launched a $250 million creator fund to foster innovation in tokenization and enable all creators —and their partners—to kickstart their participation in the NFT era.
A tokenized future is set to transform the way people buy, sell, and manage all kinds of assets and since the launch of the fund, a host of new NFT use cases have come to life on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
Michael Jordan NFTs x Ripple
Rare Air Media—the producer of Michael Jordan’s visual autobiography For the Love of the Game—is one of the latest players to hop onto the NFT bandwagon. The company is working with VSA Partners, the premier creative agency partner to Ripple’s Creator Fund, to design, develop, and market a range of NFTs on the XRPL.
The highlight of the same is, however, a one-of-a-kind selection of digital assets covering former NBA player Michael Jordan’s life and storied career.
Shedding light on the tentative launch schedule and other inclusions, Ripple’s blog post highlighted,
“The first batch of NFTs is expected to hit the market in Q2 2022 and will include an intimate selection of original, momentous images of Michael Jordan, accompanied by his personal thoughts and observations leading up to the photo.“
Mark Vancil, the founder and CEO of Rare Air Media is quite enthusiastic about the launch. Commenting on the same, he said,
“Original, high-quality NFTs are a natural fit for a company that has worked with icons across sport and music for the past 29 years. VSA’s reputation for excellence, innovation, and creative expertise is the perfect partner to make it all happen. I see the digital asset space becoming a valuable revenue stream for our team in the years to come.”
Sarah Lent, VSA Partners’ Chief Marketing Officer, went on say,
“We recognized early on the importance of NFTs as a secure means of growing the brand-building experiences through the continuous innovation of digital assets. Our partnership with Rare Air is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
High-profile brands, celebs, and their respective agencies have already been making use of the NFT space to their full advantage. With mature blockchains like XRPL stepping into the picture and making strong cases, the competition is set to only become even more intense going forward.
