$800 billion asset manager Bernstein has issued a new price prediction for Bitcoin, forecasting the cryptocurrency will hit $150,000 by mid-2027. In a note to clients, Bernstein argues that a broader “debasement trade” is likely to provide a tailwind for the largest cryptocurrency. The note also forecasted beyond that point, suggesting BTC will eventually reach $300,000 during the 2029 bull cycle.

Bernstein analyst Gautam Chhugani specifically notes the 40-year era of declining interest rates has come to an end, with governments facing rising debt-servicing costs as America’s debt hits $40 trillion U.S. This could lead to the revitalization of the crypto market, led by Bitcoin. Bernstein said that policymakers are likely to favour currency debasement over fiscal stress, potentially increasing demand for scarce assets that cannot be easily created or diluted, such as Bitcoin. Other factors likely to push Bitcoin’s price higher include wider institutional adoption and a favourable regulatory environment, Chhugani added.

Investment experts and firms have begun to revise their price forecasts for Bitcoin, as the asset is finding momentum on the charts. In the last month, BTC has roared back by as much as 20%, currently trading around $77,825 at the time of writing. There are several factors behind Bitcoin’s (BTC) latest price surge. Firstly, President Trump held a cryptocurrency event at the White House last week, inviting the CEO and founders of several firms. The event further pushed the Trump administration’s pro-crypto stance. During the event, Trump stated that the US is planning to purchase a large amount of Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies. The statement may have elevated investor sentiment.

Another factor that may be pushing Bitcoin’s (BTC) price is the US Treasury’s plan to increase bond buybacks from $2 billion to at least $4 billion. The increased liquidity may have further pushed the cryptocurrency market. Altogether, these factors and the corresponding increase in institutional interest has set BTC and the crypto market on the bullish path back to pre-2026 prices.
