NFL Superstar to receive next salary in Bitcoin

Odell Beckham Jr, NFL star and Wide-Receiver for LA Rams joined a lost list of celebrities today. According to reports, the professional athlete will be taking his $4.25 million salary in Bitcoin. Odell Beckham Jr, popularly known as OBJ, announced on Twitter, that he would be partnering with Cash App to receive his salary, which is estimated to be around 75.66 BTC. Each Bitcoin should be worth roughly $56,103 to match his agreed payout amount with LA Rams.

OBJ recently signed a one-year deal to play for the LA Rams after he and the Cleveland Browns disclosed a mutual exit. Bitcoin has continued to drop in value over the past few days. Yet, these developments only indicate the growing popularity of digital assets, especially Bitcoin in the current landscape.

However, OBJ is not the only NFL professional linked with BTC. Aaron Rodgers, Quarterback for Green Bay Packers announced earlier in November, that he will be receiving a part of his salary in Bitcoin. The 2020 NFL MVP signed a $134 million deal in 2018. In addition to Rodgers, future Hall-of-Famer Tom Brady recently traded one Bitcoin with a fan.

The seven-time super bowl winner, traded 1 BTC to acquire a football with which he made his 600Th career touchdown pass. Moreover, Tom Brady also has a stake in the FTX crypto exchange.
