The release of Shibarium has been highly anticipated by the SHIB community. Following months of teasing and building excitement among the Shib Army, the Shiba Inu network has finally released a potential date for its layer-2 protocol.
The lead developer of the network, Shytoshi Kusama, took to Twitter to share a blog post announcing the launch of Shibarium. According to the post, Shibarium ‘will be likely’ released at the Blockchain Futurist Conference. The event is scheduled for August 15 and 16 in Toronto, Canada. Kusama stated that Shiba Inu has secured the title sponsorship at the Blockchain Futurist Conference, ETHWomen, and the ETHToronto hackathons. Therefore, he believed that this event will provide an ideal environment to share the exciting news about Shibarium. He further said,
“I think this is a pretty big undertaking. This level of sponsorship puts us in line with major exchanges and projects and strengthens our position as a major player in cryptocurrency.”
Kusama announced that the network will conduct a multi-month hackathon in conjunction with the Blockchain Futurist Conference. Furthermore, Attendees of the conference will have an immersive experience of the Shiba Inu network, with dedicated booths, a VIP Cubana, and a range of SHIB-themed products, services, and platforms available to explore.

Shiba Inu to emerge as the talk of the Blockchain Futurist Conference
The Blockchain Futurist Conference offers much more beyond the launch of Shibarium. Kusama confirmed that the event will feature the grand whitepaper, known as the “Worldpaper,” showcasing all Shib branded projects. Additionally, detailed information about the Treat token will be unveiled for the first time. Attendees can expect a comprehensive exhibition of the finalized Worldpaper, which will provide valuable insights into the cryptocurrency’s ecosystem tokens, including SHIB, BONE, LEASH, TREAT, and Shi.
Furthermore, Kusama confirmed that he will be delivering his speech virtually through AI technology. This marked the first time the lead developer will be presenting in this manner.
