Skybridge Analyst Anthony Scaramucci has provided a bullish take on the Solana SOL cryptocurrency, suggesting the asset may hit $2,500. This price level would be a nearly 2000% rally from the cryptocurrency’s current price level. Scaramucci spoke at last week’s Solana Breakpoint conference, making the huge prediction, but without a timeline.

Scaramucci framed the $2,500 thesis as a long-duration bet that won’t play out cleanly. “It’s not going to come without… volatility,” he said, pointing to what he called a messy US regulatory year and sticky inflation as headwinds that “probably slowed down our trajectory.” He went on to add “If you had asked me at the beginning of the year” whether Washington would pass stablecoin legislation and “the market structure, the CLARITY bill,” he said he would have expected both. “That did not happen.” Still, he argued, “the timing is still right.”

Scaramucci also claimed that the stablecoin rally took a toll on altcoins like Solana SOL, slowing their growth. While the hype around stablecoins has slowly died down, it could open the door for altcoin season to pick up starting in the new year, setting the steep path for SOL and other coins to new highs.

The Solana (SOL blockchain has been the most popular network in 2025 by a large margin when looking at transaction volume. However, the native SOL token’s second half of the year has been weak. In six months, Solana is down over 13%, one of the strongest hits by the Fall-Winter crypto crash. Bitcoin and ETH prices have also slumped.

As a result, Solana (SOL) will likely not recover until the economy improves. The Federal Reserve rolled out a 25 basis point interest rate cut earlier this month. Usually, rate cuts lead to increased risky investments as borrowing becomes easier. However, since October, interest rate cuts have done little to push crypto prices. Come January and another rate cut vote by the Fed, perhaps altcoins like SOL can finally kick off a rally.
