Entering 2025, there were few cryptocurrencies that had the kind of potential that Solana did. Already three months into the year, and it has made good on much of that. Specifically, the asset has already seen a SOL ETF debut in Canada. Now, all eyes are on the same investment product model getting approved for a debut in the United States.
Amid that, the blockchain has been the subject of a mammoth new deal. Indeed, SOL Strategies announced a new $500 million deal with ATW Partners to expand its Solana holdings. The firm’s CEO, Leah Wald, noted the move becomes the “largest financial facility of its kind in the Solana ecosystem—and the first ever directly tied to staking yield.”

The funds are set to be used “for purchasing SOL tokens, to be staked on validators operated directly by SOL Strategies, with yield shared between parties.” Moreover, it affirms SOL Strategies at the forefront of the network’s development. Additionally, the value of the model could be in its potential.
“We are doubling down on our conviction in Solana and our commitment to being the leading institutional staking platform,” Wald said. “Every dollar deployed is immediately yield-generating,” she added. Finally, she ensures that “this structure is not only innovative—it is highly scalable.”
