The billionaire has been CEO for roughly 10 days, and it’s safe to say his presence has already made a difference. The Verge has now added to that, reporting that Twitter user growth hit a record high in Elon Musk’s first week running the platform.

It is a topic that has certainly dominated mainstream media, as Tesla co-founder Elon Musk has taken over the largest social media platform in the world. Amidst massive layoffs, resignations, and the Twitter Blue controversy, it seems as though his influence is still a net positive.

Elon Musk Hasn’t Scarred off Users

The Verge has reported that the Twitter Daily user growth has hit a record high following Elon Musk’s takeover. A fact that comes after controversy surrounding both the acquisition process and his first days in charge.

The official report noted that since Musk took the reigns, the daily user growth rate has exceeded more than 20%. Moreover, the report stated that “Twitter’s largest market, the US, is growing even more quickly,” according to acquired documents.

The Verge noted that this was information utilized in conversations with advertisers. The platform leveraging that the rapid growth is a reflection of the already swift impact of Musk’s presence in the platform’s driver’s seat.

The news comes as the drama has abounded about the billionaire’s process of taking over the platform. A lawsuit is developing as a reaction to his mass layoffs, and advertisers are reportedly running from the social media outlet. Conversely, the silver lining of the controversy, however, is that users remain.

Elon Musk-Twitter Deal Finally Comes to a Conclusion

Still, The Verge reports that the massive deduction of the Twitter team has scared off plenty of advertisers. Additionally, the very public presence of the new CEO on the platform itself certainly won’t quell fears.

Only time will tell if the user growth indicates that advertisers’ fears have less merit than initially assumed. And that the atmosphere of Elon Musk isn’t the deterrent many believed it could be.
