Meme coins have been taking over the entire globe. Shiba Inu [SHIB] and Dogecoin [DOGE] have now managed to land a spot in the U.S. Figure Skating arena.
Cryptocurrencies, particularly Bitcoin [BTC] surged from the nascent stage in terms of adoption real quick. Firms across the globe were either investing or accepting Bitcoin and other prominent cryptocurrencies like Ethereum [ETH], Litecoin [LTC] for payments. Now, meme coins like Shiba Inu and Dogecoin seemed to be getting there despite being valued at very low prices.
U.S. Figure Skating decided to jump onto the meme coin bandwagon as per their latest announcement. The U.S. Figure Skating team was smitten by the crypto bug as they were accepting donations and gifts in cryptocurrency. In a recent announcement, the team pointed out that it had partnered with Engiven a web-based platform to accept crypto donations.
The donation list entailed several cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum along with popular meme coins Shiba Inu and Dogecoin. Stablecoins like PAX Gold [PAXG] as well as USD Coin [USDC] were also part of the list.
Executive Director Ramsey Baker addressed the latest U.S. Figure Skating’s latest move and said,
“Allowing our supporters to give to U.S. Figure Skating using cryptocurrency makes sense in today’s quickly changing financial marketplace. The more avenues available for current and new donors to support the organization, the more we will be able to directly support our athletes and the many programs that service our members.”
Engiven to facilitate Shiba Inu and Dogecoin donations
The demand to incorporate crypto into every industry has been surging following the onset of digitalization. The U.S. Figure Skating team wanted to elevate its means of funding to its athletes as well as clubs. Therefore, the team decided to ride the crypto wave.
The team will reportedly be employing Engiven to carry this out. Engiven would automatically exchange crypto for USD once it is verified on the blockchain. Soon after which the funds would be transferred to the U.S. Figure Skating team.
Additionally, a slew of initiatives was put in place and donors would be able to choose to fund either one of them.
