Wyoming’s Stable Token Commission has launched the first US state-issued stablecoin, FRNT, on the Solana Network. According to a Wednesday X thread from the commission’s official account, the Frontier stable token is now available for public purchase through Wyoming-domiciled crypto exchange Kraken.

The stablecoin, previously known as WYST, made headlines following its debut in August 2025. FRNT is designed for both individual and institutional use. It is fully backed by U.S. dollars and short-duration U.S. Treasuries, which return interest income to the State. The Wyoming Stable Token Commission also announced that Cross-chain bridging to the Arbitrum, Avalanche, Coinbase, Ethereum, Optimism, and Polygon blockchains is available via Stargate Finance.

“Wyoming is an innovation leader for our nation — from our core energy, agriculture, and tourism industries to education and beyond,” Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon said in a statement. “Today, our embrace of digital assets further demonstrates the strength of our enterprise and provides our citizens, businesses, and the nation with a cheaper, faster, and more transparent means of transacting. Importantly, FRNT provides another source of funding for our schools and can lower the taxpayer burden in our state.”

Furthermore, the Wyoming Commission says it will continue scaling the FRNT stablecoin in 2026. “This includes onboarding new partners for the resale of FRNT, deploying FRNT within State agencies to make operations cheaper and more efficient, and partnering with other public entities looking to do the same,” the commission added in their press release.

Dollar stablecoins are designed to track the value of US dollars one-for-one. The assets have been the talk of the town in the United States over the last year. More states have shown interest in launching their own USD-pegged stablecoins, especially with new regulations for digital assets in the United States.
