XRP trading through WhatsApp is launched after wrapped XRP, known as wXRP, went live on the Solana blockchain. This allows traders to swap the digital asset through the WhatsApp-linked noncustodial wallet. The whole setup and process is driven by AI bots with the support of Solana’s DEX aggregators. The AI bots process text-based crypto trades, making a new change in how users initiate transactions.
The AI-powered bots work based on command prompts. For instance, when a user sends a text command such as ‘Buy 0.1 SOL worth of wXRP,’ the WhatsApp network reads the request, then routes the trade through the Solana DEX aggregator. This lets the user complete a token swap through a chat-based interface. However, WhatsApp’s feature here is limited to only the messaging commands. It does not initiate trades but routes them to the DeFi aggregator.

The Solana DeFi apps widely accept wXRP across their networks, including Raydium, Orca, Kamino, Marginfi, and Backpack. The WhatsApp integration of wXRP is a new feature, and the partnership came through the involvement of LayerZero and Hex Trust. The digital asset sector is ever-evolving with new integrations and features reaching users. This also allows different ways to invest and accumulate, based on the user’s preferences.
Psydonomous trader on X, going by the handle XNNX, was the first to reveal the transaction. “I just bought XRP on Solana through WhatsApp. Solana is officially ready for boomers,” read the tweet with the transaction screenshot, which was redacted for security reasons. However, despite the new move, not everyone is excited about the new feature. Investors prefer the core DeFi method for transactions, and WhatsApp is owned by Meta. Safety and security will always be a concern for Mark Zuckerberg’s companies, which have come under a flurry of privacy investigations.
