CZ Binance also invested $500 million in Elon Musk’s Twitter acquisition. Speaking on CNBC’s Squawk Box, CZ conveyed his willingness to help Twitter enter Web3 when they are ready to do so. CZ also spoke about the Twitter deal and why he decided to invest in it.
CZ highlighted that Twitter is a “free speech platform”
Speaking on several reasons for aiding in concluding the deal, CZ highlights that Twitter is a free-speech platform. He also added that he wants to support strong entrepreneurs and believes that Elon Musk is one of them.
Binance’s CEO also mentioned that Twitter is a platform that he uses personally very heavily. CZ stressed the necessity to ensure that the cryptocurrency community has a say when it comes to free speech.
“We want to make sure that crypto has a seat at the table when it comes to free speech. There are also more tactical things like we want to help bring Twitter into Web3.”
CZ mentioned that he wants to help bring Twitter into Web3 when they are ready. He added that charging for payments will be much easier with the use of cryptocurrency.
Speaking on the pressure of handling different businesses like Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter, CZ mentions that if anyone can handle the pressure, it is Elon Musk. Musk is an ardent supporter of blockchain technology. He has evidently been a supporter of cryptocurrencies and is likely to incorporate them into Twitter.
