Shibarium is a highly anticipated update that has been in the works for quite some time. However, the Shiba Inu team has time and again teased the ecosystem as opposed to releasing the layer-2 solution. The community has been sharing an array of speculations about the launch of Shibarium’s beta version.
A cryptic message from the lead developer of the network, Shytoshi Kusama led to a plethora of forecasts. A majority of them were inclined towards a Valentine’s Day rollout. Another prediction regarding the launch date was today. As mentioned earlier, his Twitter bio made way for the same.
Kusama’s previous Twitter bio read,
“tending the Pine Tree of Life. Quickly learning to play the flute before putting Shibarium in a heart-shaped box with a bow.”
The Shiba Inu developer has constantly asserted his interest in Japanese culture. Taking this into consideration the Shib Army pointed out that today, Feb.10, was flute day in Japan. Since Kusama mentions the flute in his bio, the community put forth the chances of Shibarium launching later today.
The Valentine’s Day launch prediction was made based on the “heart box” cited in the bio. Shiba Inu’s official Twitter account or Kusama hasn’t shared any information about the same. Earlier this month, the network revealed that the Shibarium beta Testnet was moving swiftly. A blog post by Unification read,
“Given the scope, it’s foolish to rush, but work is progressing well. And although the public beta network is yet to be deployed, that day is rapidly moving ever closer.”
Will Shibarium launch Shiba Inu from its ongoing slump?
Shiba Inu was experiencing a downward trend, much like the rest of the market. The meme coin was trading for $0.00001228 with a 7.66% daily drop. The asset’s market cap also dipped to a low of $6.73 billion.
Shibarium’s launch is expected to drive the price of SHIB. The burn event that will occur post this rollout could also boost the meme coin’s price.
