A host of new projects have entered the NFT space as the hype extends into 2022. Recently, a community-driven project called “Alien Frens” gained traction on Twitter after touching a price floor of 4 Ether.
NFT marketplace OpenSea showed that the current floor price for an Alien Fren NFT stood at 3.39 Ether. The same figure took a slight dip after touching 4 ETH earlier in the day. In contrast, the NFT’s were priced around $0.02 ETH during the initial launch on 20 December. The price of a single NFT has risen by nearly 17,000% in a little under three weeks and the same did not go unnoticed on Twitter.
According to the website, Alien Frens is a “community-driven collection of 10k randomly generated NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain.” Through the NFT’s, users can attain tickets to IRL events, new merchandise, comic books, and the $FRENS token. The website is further detailed that a roadmap 2.0 is lined up for March.
Although Alien Frens is still the new kid on the block, it is definitely off to a racing start in 2022. The project is close to 40,000 followers on Twitter and is backed by entrepreneur Gary Vee.
The NFT space is abuzz with new projects after a landmark 2021. According to blockchain data company Chainalysis, NFT sales touched a whopping $41 billion last year. NFT projects such as the Bored Ape Yacht Club have already laid a blueprint for the new entrants after recording sales worth $1 Billion. With big corporations such as Samsung and GameStop also buying into the hype, 2022 could be another record year for NFT’s and projects alike.
