DeFi ( Decentralized Finance) is a term for several financial applications in blockchain or crypto aiming to do away with the need of traditional banks. What this means is that DeFi wants people and businesses alike to have more control over their finances by letting them make money without going through middlemen like brokers, bankers, etc.
