Perpetrators continue to take advantage of one of crypto’s most popular communities, Shiba Inu. The SHIB ecosystem has strived long and hard to acquire a prominent following. The Shib Army is without a doubt one of the market’s most devoted communities. The Shib Army has made it a mission to get consistent endorsements, educate people about the crypto asset, and form global alliances. Defending against wrongdoers has now been added to the list.
Over the years, the crypto-verse has been subjected to a slew of hacks and frauds. People that enter the market with a focus on yield rather than research are frequently victims of scams. Bad actors in the market were now attempting to defraud naive investors by taking advantage of the Shiba Inu network’s popularity.
MILKSHAKE took to Twitter to warn the community about a fraudulent YouTube live video. Scammers claimed that there was an event titled SHIBA BIG EVENT taking place on the video streaming application. This one included Tesla CEO Elon Musk, as has been the case with countless such hoax videos in the past.
Shiba Inu emerged as a Dogecoin killer. With Dogecoin [DOGE] as his favorite crypto, Musk was far from endorsing Shib or any other asset for that matter.
This wasn’t the first time that Musk was dragged into a scammy video without his knowledge. Along with Musk, Bitcoin advocate and former Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey was also seen in the Shiba Inu scam video.
Additionally, the Shiba Inu community expressed distress over how YouTube was allowing these scammy streams on its platform.
Shiba Inu Joins Ethereum in ETH Whale Richlist
Shiba Inu jumped back into the ETH whale-rich list. As per WhaleStats, SHIB emerged as the fourth most purchased coin by the 2000 biggest ETH whales over the last 24-hours.
Furthermore, the whale purchases did not make much of a difference to the price of the altcoin. At press time, Shiba Inu was dropping by 1.72 percent while trading for $0.00002206.
