Following the introduction of the DGFamily NFT community in conjunction with UNXD, Dolce&Gabbana announced the extension of their NFT world on the Polygon blockchain. Collectors will be able to join the Italian brand on a voyage into the Metaverse and beyond to experience fashion.

Dolce&Gabbana’s NFT venture

Dolce&Gabbana Family members receive access to a series of exclusive drops, including an exclusive Dolce & Gabbana swag kit, that includes both digital and physical wearables. These one-of-a-kind designs won’t be found anywhere else.

DGFamily Boxes are digital collectibles (NFTs) that also function as tiers of Dolce&Gabbana universe membership. As Dolce&Gabbana pushes the boundaries of luxury and culture in the metaverse, DGFamily members get special digital, physical, and experiential benefits. DGFamily boxes are made in three tiers, each of which is based on the old Italian Carretto style. The tiers are Black, Gold, and Platinum.

The Black Box is audacious and enigmatic. It gives you access to the DGFamily’s initial level, which includes exclusive digital/physical Dolce&Gabbana garment drops, a series of digital/metaverse events, and other incentives like a Dolce&Gabbana swag package.

The Gold Box is more luxurious, gleaming, and exclusive than the Black Box. It comes with all of the benefits of the Black Box, plus access to even more exclusive Dolce&Gabbana drops and invitations to numerous IRL events. A premium Dolce&Gabbana swag package with special kicks is also included.

The Platinum Box is the most elite and the pinnacle of the DGFamily community and is available by special access only. It comes with all of the benefits of the Gold Box, plus access to the most exclusive drops and IRL experiences, including an exclusive Dolce&Gabbana offsite.

Mega Brands venture into NFT’s

More and more big brands have been venturing into NFT’s in the past couple of months. With the boom in the NFT space in 2021, it is of no surprise that brands are seeing profits, and more importantly, customers to cater to, in a virtual world.

Prada, the upscale Italian fashion brand, and Adidas, the sportswear powerhouse, unveiled their first collaboration NFT project on the Polygon blockchain in January. Adidas announced a collaboration with Prada to launch Adidas for Prada Re-Source, a user-generated NFT art initiative.

Polygon recently deepened its connection with Filecoin and started offering grants and hackathons to help development teams and NFT projects using Polygon blockchain interact with Filecoin and the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS).

Apart from NFT’s, brands have also started exploring the Metaverse. Gucci had recently partnered with The Sandbox to purchase an undisclosed size of land, to set up their virtual showroom.
