FTX’s Sam Bankman-Fried has made requests for depression and ADHD medicine while in jail, his lawyers say. The founder of the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX was indicted on charges he stole billions of dollars in FTX funds to plug losses at his Alameda Research hedge fund. He has pled not guilty
Bankman-Fried was put in jail last week by Judge Lewis Caplan. According to judge Caplan, there was probable cause to believe he had tampered with witnesses at least twice.
In a letter, Bankman-Fried’s lawyers asked Judge Lewis Kaplan to order the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn to ensure SBF has a daily Emsam skin patch for depression. They also put in a request for three to four doses a day of Adderall for ADHD.

The prescriptions were given to Sam Bankman-Fried, the depression skin patch for five years, and the Adderall medicine for three.
“Without these medications, Mr. Bankman-Fried will experience a return of his depression and ADHD symptoms, which will severely impact his ability to assist in his own defense,” the Bankman-Fried’s lawyers wrote, citing a letter from his psychiatrist filed in court.
The disgraced FTX founder’s trial is scheduled for October 2.
