Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) is definitely the one Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection that has fully characterized where the trend has gone in 2021. The Ethereum blockchain’s exclusive collection of 10,000 individual apes wearing contemporary costumes in front of bright backgrounds has surged in popularity and worth.

From a Rolling Stone magazine cover to an actual art gallery at NFT.NYC last fall, Bored Ape Yacht Club has erupted onto the market, bringing owner Yuga Labs an unprecedented smash in the crypto-collectibles sector.

Celebrity Bored Ape Yacht Club owners

Tom Brady is the new owner of Bored Ape #3667, according to Tripsters, a derivative Bored Ape NFT project. Bored Ape #3667 was purchased for 133ETH before being transferred to the current wallet that owns it, according to on-chain statistics. In a collection of 10,000 animals, the ape is the 4,252nd rarest.

On March 14th, 2022, Madonna bought her first ape. According to on-chain data, Madonna paid 180 ETH for Bored Ape #4988, a total of almost $500,000. Madonna is presently using her Bored Ape #4988 as her Twitter profile image. Madonna’s ape has a weird outfit and pink fur with blue eyes, among other features.

Ben Simmons, an Australian basketball player, entered the NFT space with the purchase of Bored Ape #5164, adding to a sizable NFT collection spanning two wallets. For Bored Ape #5164, Simmons paid 100 ETH.

On January 29th, 2022, Justin Bieber bought his first ape, igniting a new wave of demand on the market. The NFT community questioned Bieber’s purchase because he spent almost 4x the “market value” based on the item’s characteristics and rarity. Justin didn’t seem to mind that his ape wasn’t the most uncommon – or that it cost 500ETH – because he bought it anyhow.

Blue backdrop (12% of Apes), Navy Striped Tee (3%), Heart sunglasses (4%), Cream fur (6%), and Sea Captain’s headgear are some of Fallon’s ape’s distinguishing features (3%). Jimmy Fallon purchased his Ape for 46.6 ETH, which was made in collaboration with Moonpay. Moonpay is a platform that enables users to purchase NFTs without the need for DApps such as Opensea.

Post Malone, a singer, and songwriter, recently paid over $700,000 for two Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs. His purchase is featured in The Weeknd’s most recent song video. On Twitter, Post Malone is now using his Bored Ape #961 as his profile image. Post’s ape has zombie fur and wears a cowboy hat, among other things.

Soccer star Neymar Jr of Paris Saint-Germain has joined the Bored Ape Yacht Club With Ape #6633. He paid 160 Ether (about $400,000 at the time) for his ape. Party Hat #2, Bubble Gum lips, and holographic eyes are some of Neymar’s ape’s distinguishing features.

Lil Baby paid 38 Ethereum for his Bored Ape, which is now valued roughly at around 70 Ethereum, or $300,000, at the time of writing.

He’s also launched his own NFT line, and he’s been a part of the NFT community for longer than other celebrity Ape owners. BAYC #8716 was purchased by Aoki for 49 Ethereum. The sad eyes, lumberjack shirt, and fisherman’s hat on Aoki’s ape are notable features.

Cuban is the owner of the Bored Ape Yacht Club #1597, which he received as a gift. At the time of writing, Cuban’s ape is thought to be worth $250,000.
