Joe Rogan Chooses Cryptocurrency-Powered Browser Over Chrome

Among his many controversial stands, comedian Joe Regan took a swing at Google’s Chrome browser sometime in June 2021. Google Chrome is the world’s biggest internet browser with a staggering near-60% market share. Unfortunately, it faces issues about user privacy. This is where rivals are circling in on the Silicon Valley tech-giant.

Other web browsers like Brave, have made it their primary concern to seal the cracks around privacy concerns.  During one of his podcasts, Rogan told his guest Reggie Watts,

“There’s so much value in knowing what you’re up to; knowing where you’re going, what you’re buying, what you’re saying.” “If you want to use Instagram or if you want to use Facebook, you’re getting tracked.”

Rogan said this while referring to a recent lawsuit filed against Google for tracking users without their consent.

What Is The Brave Ads Program ?

Brave is an open-source crypto-based internet browser that protects users’ privacy by blocking ads and website trackers.  No wonder, Rogan, who has spoken out against privacy breaches, told his viewers that he prefers Brave.  Following this announcement, Brave has since revealed that it added more than 1.5 million monthly active users.

In a bid to reduce the negative experience that comes from having to watch  unwanted Ads, Brave has an ads program. In the Brave Ads program users receive rewards with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT). These are cryptocurrency bonuses for watching ads voluntarily from  Brave’s partner brands like Amazon, Verizon, Chipotle and PayPal. Overall, this has led to the browser’s growth with its number of ad campaigns rising from 255% to more than 1,500.
