Hardware wallet provider Ledger and crypto exchange Coinbase have announced a new partnership Tuesday, which will work to simplify cryptocurrency purchases and transfers. According to Ledger, the move aims to integrate Coinbase Pay into Ledger Live, thus improving the efficiency and security of cryptocurrency transactions.
In a media release on their products blog, Ledger discusses how the partnership makes transactions and purchases easier for users. “The collaboration brings accessible, seamless, and secure purchases to crypto users creating an easier pathway from exchange to self-custody,” the post reads.
The blog continues to explain how Coinbase Pay is exactly integrated into Ledger Live. Coinbase Pay’s functionalities are now integrated into the Ledger Live app. This allows users to transfer their crypto and conduct transactions from their desktop or mobile device. Currently, the future is only available in the following regions:
- United States
- United Kingdom
- European Union
- Brazil
- New Zealand
- Australia
- Canada
- Singapore

Ledger adds that the integration benefits Ledger users by facilitating direct receipt of crypto purchases from Coinbase on their Ledger device. Furthermore, it also enables users to retain their preferred payment methods in Coinbase including ACH, Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro
How To Use Coinbase Pay on Ledger Live
Accessing Coinbase Pay through Ledger Live can be done in the following steps:
- Open the Ledger Live app.
- Tap the Transfer button and then tap Buy.
- Tap Compare providers.
- Select the crypto you want to buy and enter the amount.
- Select your country.
- Select ACH, Visa, Mastercard, or Maestro as a payment method and tap Find eligible providers.
- Select Coinbase as a provider.
