Without a doubt, artificial intelligence is a hot topic of discussion at the moment. OpenAI and ChatGPT in particular have caught significant attention. The emergence of this technology has scared certain people about its potential. Tesla CEO Elon Musk even suggested that AI is one of the “biggest risks to civilization”. However, he was hit with immense backlash as he co-founded OpenAI.
Now, addressing the same, he noted that OpenAI which started out as a non-profit isn’t the same anymore.
Responding to a recent tweet, Musk highlighted the latest partnership between OpenAI and Microsoft. He accused the AI platform of transitioning into a closed-source firm that is looking to garner maximum profit. He tweeted,
“OpenAI was created as an open source (which is why I named it “Open” AI), non-profit company to serve as a counterweight to Google, but now it has become a closed source, maximum-profit company effectively controlled by Microsoft.”
Musk suggested that this wasn’t what he ‘intended” OpenAI to be when he co-founded it. In his most recent tweet, he implied that the world needs “TruthGPT” at the moment.
Customizable ChatGPT in the works says OpenAI
Amidst all the chatter around the perils of artificial intelligence, OpenAI decided to roll out yet another upgrade to ChatGPT. According to recent reports, the firm revealed that it was formulating an update that would allow users to customize the chatbot. The firm stated in its blog post,
“This will mean allowing system outputs that other people (ourselves included) may strongly disagree with.”
However, OpenAI further noted how there will “always be some bounds on system behavior” to this update. Additionally, The San Francisco-based business said it has tried to reduce political and other prejudices but also wants to accept more varied viewpoints
It looks like the artificial intelligence firm was putting its Microsoft funding to good use.
