Pro-Palestine Protestors Break Into Blackrock’s Headquarters in NYC

A group of pro-Palestine activists staged a protest at the global investment management corporation BlackRock’s headquarters in Manhattan on Thursday.

Carrying banners reading “Shut down genocide profiteers, free Palestine,” numerous protesters entered the lobby of BlackRock’s offices chanting slogans.

The demonstration comes amid a global swell of pro-Palestine protests in recent months, sparked by an outbreak of violence in the occupied territories that left numerous Palestinians dead.

Pro-Palestine protests have erupted globally

Since the onset of violence between Israel and Palestine in July 2023, pro-Palestinian protests have erupted in cities around the world, including Washington, D.C., Ohio, Utah, California, Sydney, Melbourne, London, New York, Paris, and Berlin.

Tens of thousands have joined the demonstrations, which have been organized by diverse groups like Muslim and Arab American organizations, student groups, labor unions, antiwar activists, and environmentalists.

Protesters have called for an immediate end to Israeli airstrikes in Gaza and a ceasefire between the two sides. Carrying Palestinian flags and signs, as well as mock child bodies to symbolize Gazan casualties, the protests have been overwhelmingly peaceful.

However, some participants have faced brief detentions even in states ruled by opposition parties. High school students in cities like New York have also walked out of classes to join the protests.
