With almost every major sportswear brand setting foot into the digital world, Puma certainly did not want to be left behind. Hopping onto the Metaverse buggy, the retail giant filed a trademark application that aims at selling digital goods.

Puma has been a prominent player in the sports retail business. The firm entails prominent athletes as ambassadors who have been driving up the sales. Now, moving onto the digital space just like its counterparts, Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour, Puma was pursuing a green signal.

In trademark filing, the sportswear giant laid out its interest in delivering an interactive website for its users. The trademark filed by attorney Josh Gerben read,

While the firm hasn’t declared an official statement regarding its entry into the metaverse, this trademark filing did sort of affirm its vision. A possible sale of shoes, sports equipment as well as apparel will be a part of this plunge into the metaverse.

Metaverse a digital mall for major brands like Puma, Nike?

The fervor around metaverse has been so high that even a person living under a rock has heard of it. With people from across the globe diving into the space, metaverse has emerged as the talk of the town.

“Metaverse is the future” is a phrase that has been ruling the internet these days. But what is it really?

Some believe that it is the amalgamation of all kinds of digital experiences under a signal roof. With digitalization experiencing parabolic growth, the sale of virtual goods witnessed growth like never before. Retail firms certainly intended to keep up with the potential boom of the metaverse. Therefore, an array of retail giants, like Nike and now Puma were jumping into the metaverse bandwagon.

Nike partnered with Roblox to formulate NikeLand. While H&M was also on the list, the fast-fashion firm denied all rumors. Furthermore, details regarding Puma’s venture into the metaverse were still hazy. However, the community speculates the launch of a virtual store or a possible “PumaLand”.
