Sam Bankman-Fried’s Family Requests Vegan Meals for him at Bahamas Prison

The New York Post reported that Sam Bankman-Fried’s family has requested vegan meals for him at the Bahamas Prison where he is being held. The report states that the family called the Fox Hill correctional facility in Nassau on Tuesday to make the request.

Bankman-Fried has been the face of the biggest scandal in crypto’s history. His orchestration of one of the biggest frauds the industry has ever seen has landed him facing an extradition hearing, and eight charges from United States prosecution

Bankman-Fried’s Family Requests Vegan Option

It was among the highest profile arrests of the last month, as the uncovered fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried has finally found himself behind bars. The former billionaire led the collapse of FTX by misusing millions in customer funds. Subsequently, those assets are likely to ever be fully recovered.

The FTX founder currently faces extradition to the United States. There he has already been charged with eight counts of fraud and conspiracy. Till then, Bankman-Fried is being held at Fox Hill correctional facility in Nassau.

The New York Post reported that Sam Bankman-Fried’s family has called and requested vegan food for him at the Bahamas jail. Additionally, the report notes that the correctional institution is “known to be crawling with rats and maggots,” according to sources.

Following his indictment, Bankman-Fried was arrested earlier this week. Moreover, the report notes that he is being held in his own maximum-security section of the Bahamas prison. Bankman-Fried will remain there through February 8th, the date of his extradition hearing.

The report continues to state that, due to COVID-19 restrictions, Bankman-Fried is prohibited from visitors. Moreover, a previous warden of the jail once stated that it was, “not fit for humanity.”Conclusively, it is unknown if the request for vegan meals was granted by the prison.
