Shiba Inu (SHIB) has been around for more than two years now. The canine-themed crypto project celebrated its second anniversary on the 1st of August. In its two short years of existence, the project has, without a doubt, come a long way. It is often termed as “memecoin,” but given its rapid rise and venture into different industries, the token might just lose that name for itself.
2022 in particular has been a year of immense growth for Shiba Inu. Although the year has been harsh for the larger crypto markets, SHIB included, the project has done well in terms of listings, collaborations, and product launches.
With that said, let us take a look at the industries that SHIB has ventured into over the past two years.
Shiba Inu in the Food industry
Earlier in February 2022, Shiba Inu got its very own restaurant after a partnership with Welly’s. Welly’s is a restaurant based in Naples, Italy. The restaurant is fully branded with SHIB logos and merchandise. It was the first time SHIB ventured into a real-world project.
Shibarium: layer 2 network
This is one of the most anticipated launches of the year. Shibarium is SHIB’s layer-2 protocol. It intends to make transactions faster and cheaper. Many expect Shibarium to launch very soon, as the team had planned for a Q3 release. With only a few days left for Q3 to conclude, SHIB fans are on the edge of their seats with anticipation.
Shibarium will use BONE, SHIB’s offspring token, for the validators. This development led to BONE becoming hugely popular in the markets. The launch of layer-2 should ideally see some positive sentiment from the crypto community.
Shiba Inu Gaming
Gaming is the latest new launch from SHIB, albeit the game is only available in Vietnam and Australia for beta testing. However, we are very close to a worldwide release very soon. As per initial reports, the game appears to be a big hit in the two countries. The game is called Shiba Eternity, and is a collectible card game. The lead on the project was William Volk, who is an experienced game designer.
Fashion industry
Shiba Inu partnered with prominent global fashion designer, John Richmond. The collaboration will see the creation of some NFTs, the physical version of which will be on display at the Milan Fashion Week 2022 in Italy. The event has already started and SHIB fans and investors were invited to a private party by Richmond.
The main fashion show is yet to take place, although a confirmed date is not yet known. However, some sources have said that globally famous supermodels would be wearing SHIB-themed clothes at the show.
With its toes, or should I say paws, in so many industries, Shiba Inu sure has the potential to truly become one of the great crypto projects. In its two short years, the project has achieved a lot. However, the project would need to deliver its launches on time, if it wishes to play in the big leagues.
